Gwen Stefani Quits Solo Career

Gwen Stefani has called it quits on her solo career in music after nearly eight years and two solo studio albums.

Stefani tells Entertainment Weekly, "That was a moment in time. It went on a little longer than we all thought it would, because it was inspired and you have to go with wherever you're at in that time in your life ... everything works out how it should."

The No Doubt frontwoman branched out from her ska-pop rock band to start working on her first solo album, 'Love.Angel.Music.Baby' in 2003, which peaked at No. 5 on the US Billboard 200 upon its release in 2004. No Doubt subsequently went on an extended hiatus after 14 years of working together and five studio albums. Stefani's debut album was followed soon after by the 2006 release of her sophomore 'The Sweet Escape,' which hit No. 3 on the US Billboard 200. Both albums went platinum.

Stefani admitted a new No Doubt album will take a while, as her bandmates are all busy, but Stefani insists she has no plans to release any more material without the guys. The band will officially announce future plans in a statement on Friday (June 10).
