It's the biggest honor a celeb can receive. Aside from the Oscar, Grammy or Emmy. Or one of your all-purpose lifetime achievement awards. Or being named the sexiest life form still breathing (or whatever). OK, so maybe not the biggest honor, but let's just say, it's a pretty big deal.
The Hollywood Walk of Fame today unveiled the list of lucky celebs with movies coming out next year set to get stars on the fabled sidewalk in 2012. Who made the cut?
Well, for starters, Jennifer Aniston, Scarlett Johansson, Jennifer Lopez, Kate Winslet, Boyz II Men?you know, all the big names.
So why did we do a double take when we saw Aniston's name on the list?

Each of the recipients will be honored for a specific medium.
Curiously, Aniston made the cut in the movie category. Apparently the selection committee seems to think her work in movies like The Switch and The Bounty Hunter are more deserving of the recognition than her decade-long Emmy-winning TV run on Friends.
Anyhoo, also representing for the big screen are Scarlett Johansson, Vin Diesel, Kate Winslet and, posthumously, Richard Burton.
Jennifer Lopez, meanwhile, was not singled out for her contribution to movies (what, no Back-Up Plan fans on the selection committee?), but music.
Joining her in the group is David Foster, Vince Gill, America and, posthumously, Barry White, among others.
On the TV side of things, Simpsons creator Matt Groening will have the honor of getting walked all over, as will Valerie Bertinelli, Law & Order: SVU stalwart Mariska Hargitay, Patricia Heaton, Marg Helgenberger, Star Trek's Walter Koenig and O.G. Batman Adam West.
There is one sole recipient of a star in the radio category, Ryan Seacrest's morning cohort Ellen K.
No specific dates have yet been announced for the star ceremonies, all of which will take place in 2012. Here's the complete list of recipients:
