COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) ? A South Carolina man suspected of killing four people, including his wife and ex-wife, killed himself Sunday after leading police on a chase back to the scene of three of the slayings, authorities said.
Kenneth Myers, 46, was driving his dead ex-wife's car when deputies began chasing him early Sunday morning, Aiken County Sheriff's Capt. Charles Barranco said.
Officers fired several shots at Myers as he tried to ram their cruisers before the chase ended back at the home where deputies found three people dead around 6 p.m. Saturday. Myers then apparently shot himself.
Aiken County Coroner Tim Carlton identified the dead as Myers' wife, 25-year-old Angela Myers; her twin sister, Tabitha Brown; her mother, 50-year-old Vicki Brown; and Myers' ex-wife, 47-year-old Esther Baldwin. All four died from single gunshots.
Police were checking in with several more people who they thought could be threatened by Myers when they found him and he fled, Barranco said.
Investigators spent all night trying to piece together why Myers might have gone on the killing spree. Deputies weren't immediately familiar with him before Saturday night.
"It's hard to say at this point in the investigation why those people were killed," Barranco said.
Phone calls to several listings related to Myers were not answered Sunday.
Investigators have uncovered some threats Myers made to people in the past, but people who have been
interviewed so far didn't think he would turn violent, Barranco said.The first three bodies were discovered in a secluded, rural home near Wagener, about 40 miles east of Augusta, Ga. Deputies going to check on another person living nearby discovered Baldwin's body about seven hours later, authorities said.
Investigators initially thought Myers might be heading for Alabama before finding him not far from where all the killings took place.
"We need to try to find some answers," Barranco said. "We had a lot of people out all night."

"Of Gods and Men" is based on the true story of a group of French Cistercian Trappist monks caught up in the violent protracted civil war in Algeria in the 1990s.
French director Xavier Beauvois' film is a story of faith under extreme pressure.
The eight monks of the story live in a village in the Atlas Mountains where their abbey has stood since the mid-19th century. Mostly their lives are of contemplation, raising bees and praying. They sell their honey at the local market and coexist peacefully with their Muslim neighbors. One of the brothers (Michael Lonsdale) runs a medical clinic, dispensing prescriptions, advice and secondhand clothing to the locals.
A former French colony, Algeria fought a complicated war for independence in the 1950s and political unrest was common afterward. By the 1990s religious parties were banned, resulting in insurrection by some Islamic extremist groups.
While the monks cannot do anything about what happened during the period of colonialism, they dedicate their lives to creating a new bridge. The prior, Christian (Lambert Wilson), spends much of his time learning he Quran as he tries to show that he's a friend to Algerians. But as Europeans, the monks are still the target of anger by many in the country.
When a group of Croatian highway workers are killed as militants drive to rid Algeria of foreigners and others they consider infidels, local civil and military authorities try to persuade the monks to abandon
the abbey. Several are tempted to leave, and some of the most dramatic moments in the film are of them debating what they should do.While Beauvois finds beauty in the Trappists' lives - the soundtrack is often their chanted prayers or passages of classical music the monks listen to - the director does not try to make them out to be saints. Instead he tries to find a balance between their beliefs and who they are as men.
"Of Gods and Men" is a beautiful film and provides food for thought, especially in light of these turbulent times in the Muslim world. The DVD includes a documentary on the real events.
Keep in mind
The Syfy network's "Eureka" threw in some time travel to spice up last season. Light fun, the show starts its fifth season on July 11.
There are remastered editions of two excellent films to excite collectors - Wolfgang Petersen's World War II submarine yarn "Das Boot" and "The Sacrifice," the final work of the great Russian film director Andrei Tarkovsky.

According to court papers recently filed by supermodel Linda Evangelista, her son, Augustin James, 4, was fathered by Hayek's husband, Fran�ois-Henri Pinault. Hayek and Pinault wed in 2009, but dated since 2006, around the time Evangelista got pregnant. (Pinault has two other children ? a son and a daughter ? from his previous marriage, which ended in divorce in 2004.)
Now Evangelista has filed a petition seeking support from the French businessman, 49.
"In the filing, it says the child 'was born out of wedlock to [petitioner] Linda Evangelista, 46, and that [Pinault] acknowledged [her] allegation,' " a source familiar with the filing tells PEOPLE. "It says, 'It is decided that Pinault is the father of [Evangelista's son], Augustin James.' "
It has not been determined how much support Pinault will be obligated to pay for his child with Evangelista.
"All that's left is for a magistrate to go over the father's filings and make a determination of support, which will last until the child is 21," the source says. "[Pinault] is asking to be able to testify by phone."
Meanwhile, another source tells PEOPLE: "This is no Schwarzenegger case. No one was married. There was no infidelity."
The Pinault family's luxury goods empire is reportedly worth $16-18 billion. Pinault's 2010 salary was $5.4 million, according to Bloomberg Businessweek.
In New York, where the court papers were filed, the law requires a father to pay 17 percent of what he earns in child support. This would mean Pinault should owe around $920,000 for that year.
Reps for Hayek, 44, and Evangelista have not returned request for comment.

ATLANTA (AP) -- Thousands of marchers stormed the Georgia Capitol on Saturday to protest the state's new immigration law, which they say creates an unwelcome environment for people of color and those in search of a better life.
Men, women and children of all ages converged on downtown Atlanta for the march and rally, cheering speakers while shading themselves with umbrellas and posters. Capitol police and organizers estimated the crowd at between 8,000 and 14,000. They filled the blocks around the Capitol, holding signs decrying House Bill 87 and reading "Immigration Reform Now!"
Friends Jessica Bamaca and Melany Cordero held a poster that read: "How would you feel if your family got broken apart?"
Bamaca was born in the U.S., but her mother and sister are from Guatemala. She said she fears they will be deported.
"I would be here by myself," said Bamaca, 13. "I have a feeling (the governor) doesn't know the pain affecting families. If he were to be in our position, how would he react?"
Adelina Nicholls, executive director of the Georgia Latino Alliance for Human Rights, said the crowd was sending a message.
"They are ready to fight," Nicholls said. "We need immigration reform, and no HB87 is going to stop us. We have earned the right to be here."
Azadeh Shahshahani of the American Civil Liberties Union of Georgia called the rally inspiring and said she hoped lawmakers would recognize the law's potential to damage the state.
"I think it's going to have an impact," she said. "Unfortunately, the damage has already been done as far as people of color having second thoughts about moving to Georgia."
Several different groups stood with the largely Latino crowd, including representatives from the civil rights movement. The Rev. Timothy McDonald, an activist who has been supportive of immigration protesters, was among the speakers showing his solidarity.
"You are my brothers and my sisters," McDonald told the crowd. "Some years ago, they told people like me we couldn't vote. We did what you are doing today. We are going to send a message to the powers that be ... that when the people get united, there is no government that can stop them. Don't let them turn you around."
MiLi Lai, a student at Emory who is Chinese, also attended the rally because the immigration law doesn't just apply to Latinos, but "all non-American people."
"We are the same community," Lai said. "We have to fight for our rights."
Bellanira Avoytes came to the rally with her husband and three children. Although she is a legal resident and her children were born in Georgia, she does not see herself as separate from undocumented Latinos.
"I have family who are not residents," she said. "I am together with the Latin people. I love Georgia. I have stayed here for 18 years. I want to buy a house here."
Saturday's rally follows a "day without immigrants" organized Friday, when some parts of the law took effect. It was organized by the Georgia Latino Alliance for Human Rights. The organization asked businesses to close and community members not to work or shop to protest the law.
On Monday, a judge temporarily blocked key parts of the law until a legal challenge is resolved. One provision that was blocked authorizes police to check the immigration status of suspects without proper identification. It also authorizes them to detain undocumented immigrants. Another penalizes people who knowingly and willingly transport or harbor undocumented immigrants while committing another crime.
Parts of similar measures in Arizona, Utah and Indiana also have been blocked by the courts.
Provisions that took effect Friday include one that makes it a felony to use false information or documentation when applying for a job. Another provision creates an immigration review board to investigate complaints about government officials not complying with state laws related to undocumented immigration.

Candace Johnson, an American who helped pioneer the satellite industry on the Continent, was dubbed ?The Satellady? in a 1996 Economist article. A career as a trailblazer also earned her a few other labels: she was called ?the most dangerous woman in Europe? by an angry media mogul after she foiled his plans to build a cartel and ?Enemy No. 1? by Germany?s Deutsche Telekom when she won a landmark case against the company for illegal subsidies of data networks.
Johnson says she has earned all of these titles over the course of a 35- year career in the tech industry by ?always trying to create something new? and usually breaking monopolies in the process.
?What I am really most proud of is that I made SES (Societe Europeene des Satellites) become the world's largest satellite system at the time and the premier satellite system today and that I was able to create other companies, all of which contributed to the advancement and democratization of access totelecoms, media and Internet for the world,? says Johnson.
Johnson is now playing a big role in investing in Europe?s start-ups, arguing that if Europe wants to ensure its economic prosperity everyone is going to have to do its part to keep young entrepreneurs from moving elsewhere. To that end, she is president of Johnson Paradigm Ventures (JPV) which is a principal founding shareholder with AXA, Caisse des Depots, Bayerische Landesbank, and the SPEF of Sophia Euro Lab, Europe?s first trans-border early-stage investment company based in Sophia Antipolis.� JPV is also a principal founding shareholder in London-based Ariadne Capital, headed by Julie Meyer.
Building innovative infrastructure that democratizes new types of services remains her core mission. Through her global investing activity started ten years ago, Johnson, now 58, has widened her scope of expertise to include clean tech and med tech and has been actively involved in financing such companies as the Blue H Group, which operates deep-water off-shore wind farms, Nheolis, a home-turbine energy company, and CertiNergy, France?s first B2B2C energy-credit trading company as well as Quotient Diagnostic and AboDiag, life-sciences technology and services companies.
Johnson is one of some 80-plus scheduled speakers at DLDWomen, a conference in Munich June 29-30 organized by Burda Media. The conference, which focuses on women?s influence on developments in technology, media and markets, is expected to attract 500 women in business and the arts.
The speakers, who include top female executives at companies such as Google, HP and IBM, haven?t just climbed corporate ladders, they have honed their skills by doing everything from bicycling across Siberia to driving solar-powered race cars through the Australian Outback.
Career of Candace Johnson
Johnson?s path has taken more than a few interesting turns of its own. After growing up in Hawaii and graduating from Punahou, the same Honolulu high school later attended by U.S. Present Barak Obama, Johnson went on to earn five degrees in music, includinga bachelors degree from Vassar College and masters degrees with honors from France?s Sorbonne and Stanford Universities.Through an early job as a producer at a U.S. classical music station, she met her husband, Adrien Meisch, a classical pianist and diplomat 23 years her senior, who was then serving as Luxembourg?s ambassador to the U.S. (The two celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary this year.)
From the start Johnson had no intention of becoming a demure tea-serving ambassador?s wife.� While still in her 20s she joined a small broadcasting business, created a satellite distribution network for them and sold it within a year for several million dollars, earning a commission equal to three years salary. So when Meisch was posted back to Europe in 1982 and the prime minister?s chauffeur took her on the tour of the Grand Duchy, Johnson started thinking about how she could help the country she would soon call home, which was in the middle of a steel crisis.
Never one to think small, she proposed that Luxembourg launch its own satellite and made good on her promise to make it happen. Johnson used the broadcasting company commission to work without pay, concentrating all of her time on putting together a group of private investors to fund Astra, the first privately owned European television satellite and SES as well as obtaining the frequencies, putting a management team in place, and negotiating with the satellite and launch companies. Later, while on the board, she architected and implemented SES Global. Today, SES is Luxembourg?s largest taxpayer.
The satellite business was a natural one for Johnson. Her father, General Johnny Johnson, was the head of telecommunicaitons for the U.S. armed forces and ran telecoms policy in the White House under Presidents Kennedy and Lyndon Johnson and later, at age 57, was recruited by venerable Silicon Valley venture firm Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers to help select and then manage interesting communication start-ups.
There was not only talk about satellites at the Johnson family dinner table. Architects of the Internet such as Vint Cerf were regular guests, says Johnson. Her father also taught her how to have a head for busienss. When, as a little girl, she told her farther she wanted to run for class president, he told her she would need a marketing plan and taught her how to design one. Anytime she wanted to do a project he would tell her to create a business plan and again, showed her how it was done. So, for Johnson, entering the tech business didn't require any special training in engineering or bsuiness. But it did require moxie.
Johnson is credited with helping Astra flourish by fighting a lonely battle on SES' board to block Europe's biggest broadcasters from taking over the company and suppressing smaller, new channels - a role that earned her the "most dangerous woman in Europe" title.
Seventeen years after she started SES in 1983 an 15 years after it was actually incorporated as a company she stayed with SES on the board to help build it to be not only number one in Europe but also to architect and implement a plan for SES Global, thus creating the world's largest satellite system at the time.
�?It took an amazing effort to make SES Global happen since there was much internal opposition and once I pushed it through everyone was so mad at me,? says Johnson. ?�I had to fight for five years to get all my efforts recognized and it was for this that the Grand Duke and the Prime Minister gave me the Commander of the Luxembourg Order of Merit after they had already given me the Officer of the Couronne de Chene for having started SES.?
Creating ASTRA also frightened politicians and companies alike. �Recently, when Johnson saw Hans-Dietrich Genscher, Germany?s legendary former foreign minister, she says his first �remark in seeing her after 10 years was that the late Francois Mitterand, France?s President from 1981 to 1995, complained to him that she �was �?selling Europe?s skies to America.? ��Johnson retorted, ?No, as you can see with SES Global I made Europe?s skies global, something Mitterand and the industrial policies of all European governments could never do.?
Johnson also started a venture to use satellites to buest telecom monopolies in Europe, launchign Teleport Europe in 1990. Within 18 months it became Europe's biggest independent private trans-border satellite communications network. Johnson convinced some of Europe's biggest companies to invest, including Germany's RWE and Vebacom.
The investors asked her to come and run the company. "I told them I am not going to work for you - I am going to sit at the shareholder's table with you," JOhsnon recalls. This took some doing as making a physical person rather than a company a shareholder in such a venture, was highly unusual, but Johnson stuck by her guns and was given a 1% share. When Loral, a subidiary of Orion Network systems, an international satellite communications provider, announced it wanted to buy Teleport Europe, RWE and Vebacom agreed by Johnson refused to sell. She continues to own 1% of the company, which is now known as Loral Skynet.
Johnson?s next high profile venture was Europe Online. The vision, in 1993, was to do just that ? to get Europe online by pioneering the delivery mechanisms that would enable Europeans to receive Internet-based interactive entertainment via their PCs and televisions.� Johnson patented the digital delivery of content via satellite but gave her idea to a consortium that included Burda Media, AT&T, Pearson, Matra and a group of Luxembourg banks.� The company morphed into a content play and ultimately failed.� Johnson says she learned a lot from her experience with Europe Online (she bought back the name at an auction and still owns the URL) ?When you are an entrepreneur you have to implement your idea at the beginning ? you can not expect others to do it for you,? she says.
Johnson remains an integral part of the Internet and communications sectors and is a fervent promoter of women in these businesses. She is a founder of the Global Telecom Women?s Network (GTWN), which will celebrate its 20th anniversary in March 2012. Still going strong, she and her colleagues at GTWN hosted a breakfast at the Mobile World Congress last February that attracted some of the industry?s highest flying female executives, including Qualcomm Executive Vice President Peggy Johnson and Xin Fanfei, vice president and executive director of China Mobile.
As thanks for decades of effort, Johnson has been decorated not only in Luxembourg but also as an Officer of the German Bundesverdienst Kreuz 1. Klasse for her work in de-regulation, innovation, privatization, and globalization at Astra, Teleport Europe and Iridium, (she helped that global satellite company obtain its global frequencies and country codes while serving as it vice president worldwide) and for the creation of the VATM, Germany?s private telecom operator?s assocation.
Johnson is the second recipient ever of the UN-sponsored World Teleport Associations? ?Founders Award? and received the ?Lifetime Achievement Award? along with Vinton Cerf and Tim Berners Lee from the World Communication Awards in 2002.
That?s not all. In 2006, she created the Festival of the Fourth Dimension, the world?s first festival of the Arts, Technology, and Sciences, which has since become a major French government global initiative for Industrial Innovation and Creativity (Pole ICI) of which she is the first vice-president, the President being a French government official
In her personal capacity, Johnson is a member of the Supervisory Boards of Paris-based Iris Capital and Turkey?s Inovent; a founding member and former president of the Board of the Sophia Business Angels in Sophia Antipolis, France; and founding president of three multi-million Euro investment vehicles, Succ�s Europe, Croissance Europe and Innovation Europe, together with Meeschaert Gestion Prive. Johnson has also been instrumental in the creation of the Galata Business Angels in Turkey, the Luxembourg Business Angels and most recently, the Cologne Business Angels. She is a foundering member of all three groups.
Johnson is also a member of the board of governors of EDHEC, France?s largest business school, the University of Haifa in Israel, Sabanci University in Istanbul, Turkey, and a Senior Enterprise Fellow for the University of Essex in England, working together with the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) to bring entrepreneurship around the world.

Bringing their marriage to a complete conclusion, Ryan Reynolds and Scarlett Johansson are officially divorced.
According to TMZ, the "Green Lantern" star and his "Other Boleyn Girl" ex-wife saw their final divorce papers filed at L.A. County Superior Court on Friday (July 1).
Said to be quite the smooth split thanks largely to both parties being young and high earners, neither Johansson nor Reynolds requested spousal support while property gained during marriage is to be split amongst one another 50/50.
With the finalization coming just six months after Reynolds' lawyer Laura Wasser put the legal parting in motion, the divorce was initiated in December 2010 due to "irreconcilable differences" after the pair had married back in September 2008.

Following 35 days under grueling, sprawling house arrest, the troubled actress had her ankle monitor removed at 10:20 a.m. local time today. At last check, she remained inside her Venice Beach, California condo, but was on her way to fulfill community service obligations at any moment.
"I spoke with her yesterday and she told me she is eager to return to fulfilling her community service obligation which she has been unable to perform during house arrest," Lindsay's rep tells E! News.
It was a difficult month-plus for Lohan, who was stuck inside her $2.25 million estate and forced to give interviews from the comfort of her living room sofa.
We have no doubt she's learned her lesson, scale back on her partying, resurrect her career and... darn. We almost got that out with a straight face.

Every fan of Peter Frampton's epic 1976 album Frampton Comes Alive! has a favorite song, whether it's talk-box-filled tune Do You Feel Like We Do or sunny singalong Show Me the Way.

"I want to thank you": Peter Frampton is on a 35th anniversary 'Comes Alive!' tour through November.
So which songs does the man himself prefer?
"It's got to be Lines on My Face, Doobie Wah and I Wanna Go to the Sun," says Frampton, who is on tour performing the album in its entirety in the USA and in Europe through Nov. 23.
"Lines is just the favorite song I ever wrote," says Frampton. "And Doobie Wah I am playing for the first time in 35 years, and it is just so much fun."
But it's Sun that amounts to a musician's dream of stardom.
"I wrote it when I was 22 or 23," he says. "I was saying, 'I want to make it.'"
Once Comes Alive! came out, Frampton went from "two fans waiting backstage to people throwing themselves at the car like flies." But his greatest point of pride isn't the album that captured a nation's heart during the Bicentennial year.
"What means the most to me is the critical acclaim I got as a guitar player on Fingerprints," he says. "It was my first huge success that had nothing to do with Frampton Comes Alive!"

The 'Tudors' star - who has been in rehab five times for alcohol problems - refused treatment by paramedics for more than 30 minutes, meaning they were forced to call police and he was eventually taken away by ambulance to a facility near his home in Maida Vale, north London.
A source said: "This is very sad. It was the opinion of those present that he tried to take his life."
Worried neighbours saw the 33-year-old actor - who was believed to have overdosed on unspecified pills - rushed to hospital.

One onlooker told The Sun newspaper: "I saw the ambulance arriving and was worried to death.
"Jonathan is a lovely guy. You see him all the time in the street. He says hello and is very pleasant. I hope he is fine."
The 'Velvet Goldmine' actor was discharged from hospital yesterday (29.06.11) but would only answer "no comment" when questioned on whether he had tried to commit suicide.
A police spokesperson confirmed they had been asked to attend the incident.
An official said: "Officers were called by London Ambulance Service following reports of a man refusing treatment. The man was taken to hospital."
