After weeks of unconfirmed reports, Elizabeth Banks has officially been cast as Effie Trinket in the film adaption of the science fiction novel "The Hunger Games."
The 37-year-old broke the much-anticipated news via her Twitter page earlier today (April 28), writing, "I can now confirm I'm EFFIE TRINKET in The Hunger Games. So excited!"
Elizabeth's role as Effie will have her acting as a protector, who is very serious and strict about manners, but offers a little spunk with her bright pink hair.
Banks will join co-stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth, whom all have been linked to the movie for some time.
