Ashley Cole met up with Jay-Z in New York this week.

The Chelsea and England footballer, who's a big hip-hop fan, spent an hour in Jay-Z's Roc Nation headquarters to chat about a possible career in music after he retires from sport.�

'After spending years married to Cheryl Cole he knows a bit about the business,' a source tells The Sun.

'He's still got a good few years playing ahead of him but is looking ahead to what he'll do when he leaves the game.'

Ashley, 30, and Jay-Z first met at a concert in 2009 and the rap superstar is also a big fan of Cheryl's - he believes she can crack America.

'I know how hot Cheryl is in the UK,' Jay-Z, 41, told The Sun.

'The US market is the toughest one to break into...but I think Cheryl has that talent to do it.

'There is nobody in America like her right now, and I would be very interested in helping her break the US market.'
