Big Brother 2011: Josie Gibson won?t be replacing Davina McCall

April 7th, 2011 by Lisa McGarry.

Josie Gibson has denied reports that she may be replacing Davina McCall as the host of Big Brother.

Channel 5 announced yesterday that they have agreed a two year deal with programme maker Endemol, which will see the supposedly extinct reality TV series returning at the end of this summer for a celebrity run.

McCall, who fronted all previous UK series? of the show on Channel 4, has previously said that she will not follow Big Brother to Five and speaking on OK! TV last night, former winner Josie Gibson said that bosses would be able to find a better presenter than her.

When asked if she would present Big Brother 2011, Gibson told Kate Walsh and Matt Johnson:

Oh God I?d get so much stick. Nobody can really replace Davina but I can think of a lot better people than me.

However, while Ultimate BB winner Brian Dowling denied reports that he has already been approached about a role on the new show, he did admit that if he was asked, he would be interested in taking part. He explained:

Apparently it?s been in the paper, but do you know what, I?ve not been approached to host any aspect of the show but if an opportunity was to airs, of course I would be interested. I?m a fan of the show.

When asked if she would recommend the BB experience to any fans out there, planning to audition, Josie gushed:

If anyone is thinking about auditioning, honestly I had the best time of my life in there. It was brilliant, I enjoyed every minute.

Who would you like to see as Davina McCall?s replacement? Rumoured front runners for the job are said to be Emma Willis, Jeff Brazier and Vanessa Feltz. Leave your suggestions for Channel 5 bosses below.
