Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shiver have separated
Terminator star Arnold Schwarzenegger and wife Maria Shiver have released a joint statement to announce their separation.
After 25 years of marriage, TV journalist Maria has moved out of the Brentwood mansion she shared with her husband.
'At this time, we are living apart while we work on the future of our relationship,' Arnold, 63, and Maria, 55, state.
'We consider this a private matter and neither we nor any of our friends or family will have further comment.
'We ask for compassion and respect from the media and the public.'
The pair married in April 1986 in Massachusetts and are parents to 2 girls and 2 boys, now 14, 18, 20 and 21.
'We are continuing to parent our four children together,' the estranged couple add.
'They are the light and centre of both our lives.'
