Jesse James on baby Louis: 'I miss him'

Sandra Bullock's ex Jesse James says it's too painful to talk about the adopted son he's not getting to raise, but he still sounds pretty optimistic about his new life post-Bullock. "I'm moving forward, thinking clearly and becoming a better person," he tells People. "I have started life over."

However, that life does not include Louis Bardo Bullock, whom James and Bullock adopted just before James' multiple affairs were exposed and the couple divorced. "Talking about Louis almost felt too intimate," James says about excluding the baby from his upcoming memoir, American Outlaw. "He is so sweet and I miss him."

But he knows that life goes on. James has relocated from California to Texas and is engaged to tattoo artist Kat Von D, and says he's focusing on his children from his two previous marriages.

"I've made my world pretty small. Now I can focus on what's important: making sure (my) kids get good grades and are happy and healthy."
